The g of Cross River State, Bassey Edet Otu on Friday in Calabar, the Cross River State capital, flagged-off the 2023 Carnival Calabar to keep the people of the state happy.
Flagging-off the ceremony at the Eleven Eleven Roundabout, close the Millennium Park, Calabar the state, Otu stated that the festival is a fulfilment of his campaign promise that he is going to bring the carnival back and in a bigger platform.
He stressed that the carnival has fully been reconnected back and he will love to take it to the next level.
The governor averred that the energy exhibited by those who are part of the fiesta shows that everybody is ready to vibrate and the festival will be another feather added to the cap of the organisers.
This year’s edition is tagged: ‘Season of Sweetness,’ and is the 16th edition of the annual fiesta.
