The Deputy Minority Leader of the Senate, Senator Emmanuel Bwacha, on Thursday defected from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

Bwacha was led to President Muhammadu Buhari by the governor of Yobe State, Governor Mai Mala Buni, who doubles as the Chairman of Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, CECPC, of the APC.

Bwacha is a thirt-term senator, representing Taraba South senatorial district of Taraba State.

He won all his elections on the platform of the PDP, and became the Senate Deputy Minority Leader, after his re-election in the 2019 general elections.
