The Federation Guinean de Football, FGF, has appealed to the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, for the rescheduling of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup second round, first leg qualifier match involving both nations.

The Guineans are asking the NFF to postpone the match, earlier scheduled for this weekend by one week, due to the coming legislative elections also scheduled for the match day, Saturday, February 29.

NFF spokesman, Ademola Olajire, in a statement made available to newsmen  said, “The NFF has sent a letter of no objection, and though the FGF has fixed a new date of Saturday, 7th March for the encounter and the NFF has accepted (meaning there would be only one week in-between the first leg and the return leg slated for the Agege Stadium, Lagos), the Confederation of African Football, CAF, still has to give a stamp of approval, as a formality.”
