Some senior civil servants have benefitted from Oyo State government’s intensive training for its officials on the use of Microsoft PowerPoint.

The one-day training tagged: ‘ICT Workshop on Deployment of Microsoft PowerPoint Skills For Effective Presentation,’ was organised for 35 senior civil servants on Grade Levels, GLs, 16 and 17 across Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs in the state civil service.

Speaking at the workshop, held at the Simeon Adebo Staff Training Development Centre, Secretariat, Ibadan, on Tuesday, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Establishments and Training, Mr. Olajide Okesade, explained that the objective of the workshop is to key into the current trends of electronic service for effective delivery of everyday tasks.

Okesade noted that the training will enable the senior civil servants to acquire improved skills in the deployment of PowerPoint application for effective presentation of reports such as budget estimates, situation reports, departmental, monthly and end-of-year reports, among others.

Mr. Okesade added that continuous training of civil servants will ensure relevance at workplace.

He said, “Analog service was used before now, where we do paper service delivery, but now we have moved to electronic service delivery. Through this, directors in the civil service will be able to key into the current trends of electronics dispensation.”

He added that this will in turn allow them give competent and reasonable advise towards a policy that will realise the vision of the present administration.

Mr. Okesade also said that the vision of His Excellency, Engineer Seyi Makinde, is to make Oyo State the fastest growing economy in Nigeria through the developmental pillars, that are driving the governor’s meaningful vision.

Earlier in her welcome address, the Director, Management, Secretarial, Computer and Business Studies, Mrs Stella Okedum, implored participants to give in their best cooperation, having the hope and mind of getting something better and valuable at the end of the session.
