A Nigerian graduate of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, in Oyo State, Dr. Laoluwa Adejayan, has been named head of Sierra Leonean COVID-19 Task Force by President Julius Maada Bio, who adjudged him the best foreign medical practitioner in the country in recent years.

Consequently, Adejayan’s salary was also increased by 100 per cent to $20,000 a month

Adejayan had served in Bayelsa State after his mandatory National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, before transferring his services to the West African country under the Technical Aids Corps scheme, currently under the leadership of Ile-Oluji-bord seasoned administrator, Dr. Pius Osunyikanmi, in 2012.

Intimating President Muhammadu Buhari of the development in a letter, the Sierra Leonean President Bio described Adejayan as “a good ambassador of Nigeria” in the country; adding that he had, over the years, proved to be a well-trained, brilliant and hard-working doctor.

An elated President Buhari, speaking through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, while congratulating Adejayan for representing Nigeria well in Sierra Leon, expressed pride in his hard work in a foreign land.
