…As 245 New Cases Recorded Across Nigeria

Lagos State recorded 76 new COVID-19 cases on the first day of the easing of the lockdown; even as the National Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, announced a total 245 new cases of the virus across the country, thus bringing the total case in Nigeria to 2,802.

In its daily update on COVID-19, the NCDC, on its official Twitter handle on Monday, May 4, stated that of the 245 new cases #COVID19 in Nigeria, Lagos has 76; Katsina,  37; Jigawa, 32; Kano, 23; the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, 19; Borno, 18; Edo, 10; Bauchi, 9; Adamawa, six; Oyo and Ogun has five apiece; while Ekiti, Osun, Benue, Niger and Zamfara have one new case respectively.

With this development, Lagos State, the epicentre of COVID-19 now has 1,183 reported cases; followed by Kano State with 365 cases, the FCT and Borno State has 297 and 100 cases to complete the top four states of the #COVID-19 table in Nigeria.

So far, of the 2,802 confirmed cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria, 417 have been treated and discharged, while 93 fatalities have been recorded.
