…Says State Will Be Better Under His Watch

A stalwart of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Kogi State, Hon Jimoh Fancy Tiamiyu, has sent his felicitations to the governor-elect, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the candidate of the party declared as winner of the Kogi governorship election held on Saturday, November 11.

INEC had on Sunday pronounced Ododo winner of the keenly contested guber poll, after securing a total of 446,237 votes. Alhaji Murtala Ajaka of Social Democratic Party, SDP, came second with 259,052 votes and Senator Dino Melaye of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, had 46,362 votes to place third.

Hon Tiamiyu, who is the Director General, DG, of Lokoja Local Government Area, APC Campaign Organisation for Ododo in the gubernatorial poll, said that Kogites should expect significant progress and meaningful development under the leadership of the governor-elect.

Noting that Kogi people will not regret voting for Ododo, who he described as a perfect gentleman and humble politician with an open mind, the APC chieftain called on opposition candidates to join hands with him to move the state forward.

The Lokoja APC Campaign DG, who worked hard to ensure the victory of his party in the local government, expressed confidence that Ododo will operate an open-door policy that will carry along everyone in the different parts of the state, as was the case with the outgoing governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.

He said, “With deep joy in my heart, I congratulate His Excellency, governor-elect, Alhaji Ahmed Ododo, His Excellency, the outgoing Governor Yahaha Bello, and the entire members of the APC family on the party’s victory in the governorship election held on Saturday.

“It’s evidently a well-deserved victory because we worked hard for it. No doubt, the remarkable achievements of the APC government in the state under able and dynamic leadership of the outgoing Governor Bello and the right decision made by our party in the choice of Ododo as our candidate paved the way for our overwhelming victory at the polls last Saturday.

“I cannot thank Kogites enough for listening to us and believing our words in the course of the campaigns that Ododo is the best man for the job; that Ododo stands head and shoulder above the other candidates in terms of experience and capacity to offer good governance, having held certain sensitive positions in this current administration led by Yahaya Bello.

“I am calling on the candidates of the opposition parties and their supporters that now that the game is over, it is only expedient for them to join hands with the winner, Ododo and APC for the purpose of moving Kogi to greater heights. Our collective interest now should be how we can come together to build a better Kogi.”
