The Governing Council of the Federal University, Wukari in Taraba State on Monday evening announced the appointments of Dr. Aboki Bambur Sallah as the new Regisrar and Mr. Paul Hassan Akpa as the new Bursar of the university.

This decision was reached at the 17th meeting of the Governing Council held on Monday, January 27, at the university campus located along Wukari-Katsina Ala road in Taraba State.

Announcing the appointments, Chairman of the Governing Council of the university, Alhaji Uba Nana Ahmed, said the council received six applications for the position of Registrar and 12 for the Bursar.

He therefore congratulated the two candidates for making the university’s choice.

He added that university’s aim in making the appointments was to ensure that the university continues to build on its reputation as the top new generation federal university in the country, known for extensive development in infrastructure, new academic programmes, human resource development and community service.

He said, “I believe that the new registrar and bursar have the capacities to provide requisite leadership in their areas of responsibilities to meet the university’s commitment in supporting Nigeria’s human development needs.”

The new registrar and the bursar, who are expected to resume office on May 5, 2020, were until their appointments the Deputy Registrar and Deputy Bursar of the university respectively.

The new Registrar, Dr. Sallah, holds a Bachelor’s degree, Master’s and a PhD from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and joined the university in 2011 as Principal Assistant Registrar, while Mr. Akpa, the new Bursar holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy from Salam University, Lokoja and a Master’s degree in Accountancy and Finance from Nasarawa State University, Keffi and joined the services of the university in 2012 as Principal Accountant.
