For alleged corrupt practices and abuse of office, an Abuja-based legal practitioner, S. M. Anyanwu, of S. M. Anyanwu & Co – Chieze Chambers – has petitioned the Independent Corrupt Practices and Related Offences Commission, ICPC, to investigate and prosecute the Vice Chancellor of tbe University of Calabar, Unical, Professor Florence Obi, and her daughter, Ms Queeneth Bankpang Agbe, formerly known as Ms, Queeneth Bankpang Samuel-Ibeawuchi.

The petition alleged that the Unical VC has not only syphoned tbe University funds and convert same for personal use, but was also accused of job racketeering, by employing her daughter Ms Queeneth in December 2021, but backdated her appointment to December 2019, an appointment Prof Obi’s predecessor denied knowledge of.

Ms Queeneth was allegedly accused of not having worked for a single day in the university, but has been drawing salary from the same institution where she has never lectured nor supervised any student.

She was also alleged to have purchased a N44-million-property in Abuja, out of which N21 million had been paid.
