The Directorate of State Service, DSS, has denied claims that it invaded the home of the immediate past Chief of Staff, CoS, to Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki, Taiwo Akerele, or arrested anyone associated with him.

Reports have been rife since Sunday that the DSS allegedly stormed the residence of Akerele, who resigned his appointment of Saturday.

The reports also alleged that the DSS operatives arrested one Jaspa Olowojoba, a Personal Assistant to Akerele, when the operatives could not find him.

But, refuting the claims on Monday, the Director of Edo State Directorate of the DSS, Mr Sheikh Waziri, insisted that no operative of the Service invaded Akerele’s residence on Sunday.

He told the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, “I have verified and confirmed that the DSS in Edo State has neither invaded the residence of nor arrested anyone associated with the former CoS.”
