The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has declared Hon. Satomi Ahmed, of the All Progressives Congress, APC, as the winner of the Jere federal constituency of Borno State.
The Returning Officer for the election, Prof. Haruna Duwa, who declared the results at the INEC Collation Centre, in Maiduguri, said that Satomi secured 26,984 votes to beat his closest opponent, Abdullahi Wurno-Mohammed of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who polled 15,791 votes, while Umar Ma’azu of the new Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, secured 1,504 votes.
