The Director General, DG, Greater Calabar City Development Authority, GCCDA, Comrade Kingsley lta lkpeme, FCA, has commended the Cross River State Governor Ben Ayade for the reintroduction of the state scholarship scheme.

lkpeme, Cross River State’s pioneer representative at the Nigerian Youth Parliament, Abuja, and former chairman, Contacts and Mobilisations Committee of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, gave the commendation during a courtesy and working visit to the DG of the Cross River State Scholarship Board, Hon Tessy Anyim, in her office.

lkpeme, a former President of the apex students body in the state, the National Association of Cross River State Students, NACRISS, worldwide, opined that students’ financing, man power training and youth capacity development shouldn’t be left for the government alone, even as he called on all to complement government’s efforts aimed at ameliorating hardship being faced by Cross River State students in tertiary institutions.

He said that the youth are prime movers of events in any society, whether positively or negatively, adding that they could become agents of destruction when neglected.

He therefore applaud Ayade for running a youth-inclusive administration as indicated in his numerous appointments.

Congratulating the scholarship board DG, Ms Anyim, for her appointment and subsequent assumption of office and the giant strides so far recorded as DG of the board, Ikpeme appealed for support to the state government for the initiative to be actualized.

Responding, the scholarship board boss commend Comrade lkpeme for the visit, partnership and encouragement; she further eulogizes him for showing effective representation by his constant advocacy for his constituents.

She said that Governor Ayade is poised to improve on the financial base of students of Cross River State extraction, even as she further appealed to students to reciprocate these kind gestures by being studious in their studies and shun deviant behaviours.
