The gubernatorial flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Cross River State, distinguished Senator (Prince) Bassey Otu, has promised that if elected governor in the governorship election of March 11, his administration will ensure the sustenance of the industrial revolution initiated by the outgoing Governor Ben Ayade.

Prince Otu made the promise when his campaign train berthed at Calabar Municipal in continuation of his campaign tour across the local government areas of Cross River State ahead of the March 11 poll.

The APC gubernatorial flag bearer said that he remains the only candidate among others that can effectively galvanize young people in the state to bring about the overall transformation of Cross River State and make life better for the citizens.

He said, “I’ll give you grants and loans to take advantage of the opportunities Ayade’s industrial revolution offers.

“When you sent me to the House of Representatives and later to the Senate, I did not go there to play around. I chaired some of the most important committees on critical sectors of our nation’s economy, including chairing several economic meetings in the United Nations and other international organizations.”

Assuring the people that his huge experience would come to bear in the governance of the state if he is elected to become the next Cross River helmsman, Otu added, “My intention is to make sure that all Cross Riverians are gainfully engaged in a way that will make everyone proud. The moment we get into government, we will immediately ensure that we restore the dignity of all Cross Riverians.”

On the contentious issue of Ejagham nation, the former parliamentarian called on political stakeholders and traditional leaders not to be deceived by the ethnic politics currently being played by the opposition party.

At Bakassi, the Chairman of Cross River State Traditional Rulers Council and paramount ruler of Bakassi Local Government Area, His Royal Majesty, Etinyin Etim Okon Edet, eulogized Prince Otu, describing him as a man of integrity, who is tested and trusted, and qualified by all known standards to govern the state.

Welcoming the APC gubernatorial candidate to his jingdom, the monarch assured him of his support and prayers, insisting that the goodwill of Prince Otu is known to all Cross Riverians.

Etinyin Edet said, “Senator Prince Otu is a man of integrity, tested and trusted. You don’t tell us what to do in your matter, we know what to do, you don’t need to bother yourself, we will do the needful when the time comes, Bakassi is 100 per cent Otu.

“For standing on the path of truth, fairness, equity and justice in driving the process of returning power back to the South, Ayade, you will go to heaven. We as a people say thank you.”
