The National Coordinator, Tinubu/Shettima Media Support, TMS, Comrade Mahmud Muhammad, has expressed appreciation to and congratulated all Nigerians, especially the teaming supporters of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who came out enmasse and voted for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to emerge as President-elect in last Saturday’s peaceful polls.
Muhammad said tgat the overwheming supports received, which also produced Senator Kashim Shettima as Vice-President-elect, Kaka Shehu Lawan as senator-elect for Borno Central and all other APC candidates who won in the keenly contested elections, is a testimony that the people definitely needs ‘Renewed Hope.’
He stated this on Wednesday in a press statement signed and made available to our correspondent in Maiduguri.
He said, “On behalf of the Tinubu/Kashim Media Support, we join many other Nigerians, particularly the APC men and women who stood firmly for the party, despite many odds against the Tinubu-Shettima candidacy.
“We extend our warmest felicitations to His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and His Excellency, Senator Kashim Shettima, the President-elect and Vice President-elect.
“Equally, we congratulated our boss, Barr. Kaka Shehu Lawan, for emerging victorious as the senator-elect, Borno Central senatorial sistrict, and all other National Assembly members elected on the platform of the APC.
“We would like to use this medium to specifically appreciate all Nigerians for the trust and confidence reposed in our candidates, as well as the APC Presidential Campaign Council, PCC, members in particular, for tirelessly working and sacrifices made towards the success of our candidates at all levels.
“On the other hand, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, has demonstrated patriotism, faithfulness and real commitment to free, fair and credible elections, despite several pullbacks.
“Therefore, he is equally commended and without doubt, he will go down in history as a President who did not interfere with the election process, despite knowing fully that his party was keenly in the contest.
“He allowed Nigerians to make their choice(s). Not like other charades we witnessed in the name of elections in 2003, 2007 and 2011 general elections.
“Tinubu’s victory is a victory to all true democrats, as he has been an avatar of democracy overtime in Nigeria. Therefore, we join all well-meaning Nigerians and her true friends to congratulate the APC, His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Kashim Shettima, as well as all those elected on the platform of the APC and that on their mandate we shall stand!”
