The entire Ayetoro people in Ogbagi Akoko, Ondo State, are now mourning the death of a housewife, identified as Mrs Jimoh, also known as Iya Rukayat, who was late Sunday beheaded and other vital organs taken away by her killers.
Her headless body was discovered in a pool of blood with fire placed on her cut out chest early on Monday.
CompassNg gathered that the deceased originally hailed from Akungba, but married in Ogbagi and was said to have lost her husband years back, which was the reason she lived alone.
Meanwhile, alerted police were said to have cordoned off the entire area as at Monday morning, depriving people from gaining entrance to the number J/M 17, Ayetoro Street residence of the victim.
A detective on the case, who confided in our correspondent said the victim’s heart was ripped off her body after which all other internal organs, including her vagina were made away with by her killers.
He said, “They severed her vagina and head…I have never seen something of that nature before. The victim was a widower after all and we suspect money-making ritual as the reason for the gruesome murder.”
Further checks revealed that the victim once married a man from another town whom she divorced for unknown reasons.
The traditional ruler of Ogbagi Akoko, His Majesty, Oba Victor Ojo Adetona, the Owa of Ogbagi, who confirmed the incident, said that he had since summoned an emergency meeting of Owa in Council, the most powerful arm of the community, made up of high chiefs and prominent individuals in the community, to the palace to deliberate on the issue.
He said, “I have never seen this type of a thing in my life. That is why we are not folding our arms. As a king, I am deeply concerned. As a human being, I am touched. Of course, the police are already investigating the painful incident. I hope they would do a thorough investigation.”
Independent investigation revealed that the victim was living alone, having lost her husband which might have partly being the reason why nobody heard her screaming when her attackers struck.
