…Says They Acted Within The Ambit Of The Law

A pan-Lagos rights group, Epe Youth Forum, EYF, has commended the opposition parties – Labour Party, LP, and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and their governorship candidates in the March 18 governorship election, for taking their doubts in Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s popularity and acceptance to the people for the test at the election petition tribunal.

The Convener of the Forum, Ogbeni Olawale Oladipo, in a statement in Epe 9n Monday evening said, that their actions, which were constitutionally right, had helped a lot to gauge the level of Sanwo-Olu’s popularity among his people, saying, “They deserve commendation for using legal frame to confirm Sanwo-Olu’s acceptance to the people beyond reasonable doubt.”

Oladipupo, who congratulated both the governor and his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat, on their confirmed victory also gave the petitioners big pats on the back for acting within the confine of the law to pursue their doubts.

He added, “Now that the truth about the governor’s victory has been doubly confirmed by the Justice Mikhail Abdullah-led tribunal on Monday, we at the Epe Youth Forum therefore urge the petitioners to, in the spirit of sportsmanship, support the administration of Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu to succeed, because the administration’s success is everyone’s success.”

In the same vein, the Forum has also urged that governor of the Centre of Excellence to equally be magnanimous in victory by extending the olive branch to the petitioners, because the task of building a state is a collective responsibility, where all hands are expected to be on deck to accomplish it.
