Critical stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Lafia Local Goverment Area of Nasarawa State on Saturday passed a vote of confidence on Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura.

Senator Al-Makura, the immediate past governor of the state, is currently representing Nasarawa South senatorial district at the upper chamber of the National Assembly on the platform of the APC.

The APC critical stakeholders of the local goverment area passed the vote of confidence on Senator Al-Makura when its spokesman, Prof Mohammed Yaro Usman, read a communique issued at the end of the meeting held in Lafia.

The communique read in parts, “The meeting passed a vote of confidence on our distinguished senator, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, as our representative in the Senate, and our leader in Lafia Local Government Area, alongside other representatives.

“The meeting called for a sustained support for our leaders and encourage all and sundry to key into the programmes of President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Abdullahi Sule.”

This was even as the communique called on all appointees from the local government not to betray to the trust reposed in them and be good ambassadors of the people at both the governments of the federation and the state.

Other resolutions recahed at the meeting included: avoiding rumour mongering, fake news and other anti-social vices in order to create peaceful atmosphere for peace, security and democracy to flourish.

The communique stated, “The meeting also resolved to avoid divisive politics of segregation or isolation and work together as one people, one destiny. The meeting resolved that we should take our rightful position in the scheme of politics as the local government area with the highest number of votes during elections in the state.”
