…Freezes State Accounts

The newly-sworn-in governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, has made his first set of appointments, less than 24 hours after taking control of the reins of governance in the Fountain of Knowledge.

Oyebanji appointed Dr Habibat Adubiaro as the Secretary to the State Government, SSG.

He also appointed Mr Yinka Oyebode as the Chief Press Secretary, CPS, to the governor.

The appointments, according to Oyebanji, in a statement by the state Head of Service, HoS, Mr. bamidele Agbede, are with immediate effect.

The new SSG, Adubiaro, a devoted Muslim, was a Special Adviser, SA, under the first term of former Governor Ayodele Fayose.

She is presently the President of the Ekiti State chapter of the Federation of Muslim Women’s Association of Nigeria, FOMWAN.

Oyebode, a native of Ido Ile in Ekiti West Local Government Area of Ekiti State, was appointed Special Assistant on Media by immediate apart governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, in his first term, before his elevation to the position of Chief Press Secretary, CPS.

Oyebode was appointed CPS by in 2018, when he assumed office for a second term, a position he held till the last day of the government before his reappointment by Oyebanji.

Meanwhile, Governor Oyebanji has ordered the immediate closure of all government accounts until further notice.

A statement by his CPS, Oyebode, quoted Oyebanji as directing all government accounting officers to comply with the directive in the interest of the state.
