The member of the House of Representatives, representing Oliyole federal constituency, Hon. Tolu Akande-Sadipe, has charged Muslims to use the Eid-el-Maulud occasion to pray for peace and unity in Nigeria.
Akande-Sadipe, who Chiara the House Committees on Diaspora Affairs, made the call in a release signed by her media aide, Olamilekan Olusada, and made available to press men in Ibadan, tbe Oyo State capital.
Eid-el-Maulud is an Islamic celebration to commemorate the birthday of Prophet Muhammad, PBH.
In the statement, Akande-Sadipe said, “I beseech you, my Muslim brothers and sisters to use this opportunity to pray for peace in our land.”
Noting that as the country moves closer to the 2023 electioneering period, she averred that it is pertinent for everyone to pray for a peaceful and successful election in 2023.
She added that Nigerians must emulate the good virtues of Prophet Muhammad, which included: humility, honesty and love for others, among other virtues.
Hon. Akande-Sadipe wished the Muslims a happy Maulud celebration.
