This is even as the Southern Borno Coordinator for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Presidential Campaign Council, PCC, Alhaji Idris Durkwa, commended the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for a job well done, as the people of his local government area, Hawul, experienced a hitch free elections.

Durkwa was in 2018, an APC gubernatorial aspirant. He also aspired in the same APC platform for Southern Borno senatorial primaries last year, which produced Senator Mohammed Ndume as candidate, after which he (Durkwa) defected from the APC and joined the PDP.

The Borno APC Chairman however lamented over the inability of some Adhoc staff of INEC in the handling of the BVAS, which has created alot of issues for voters in some polling units across the 27 local government areas in the state.

Dalori, who was so excited with the peaceful conduct of the exercise, expressed optimism that the APC will record a landslide victory at the end of the exercise.

Meanwhile, Alhaji Durkwa cast his vote at his polling unit, Shaffa Bakin Kasuwa (Mamman Gate) in Shaffa town of Hawul Local Government Area at about 12 noon.

He said, “I wand to use this opportunity to commend INEC for a job well done, as my  people in Hawul experienced a hitch- free election.

“I have taken time and went round some polling units, and I saw the exercise was going on peacefully.

“From all indication, and reports trending, PDP is carrying the day with over 90 per cent victory against all other political parties in Hawul LGA.”

Recall that thousands of Maiduguri voters were stranded as no INEC officials visit Bulama Maina, Bulama Zarami and Saltumari Polo polling units as at 12noon.

An aggrieved voter, Solomon Thliza, also lamented on the situation to our correspondent in a telephone call, insisting that they would be disenfranchised if INEC failed to act at the end of the day.
