Newly elected zonal Ex-Officio member of the South West zone of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Otunba Segun Adewale Aeroland, has expressed appreciation to all the delegates to the just concluded zonal congress of the South West PDP and leaders of the party from across the zone, for the success of the zonal congress.

In an e-statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen, Aeroland also expressed appreciation to the Almighty God for making “our congress seamless and very peaceful in all ramifications.”

He added, “Despite the tense atmosphere that preceded the election, God took control of the situation, miraculously while the election was ongoing, our leaders came together and embraced peace.”

Expressing special appreciation to the South West leader of the party, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, “for being a father to all, and for ensuring that we are all brought tactically under one umbrella,” Aeroland prayed the Almighty to continue to guide and bless him.

Eulogizing former Deputy National Chairman, South, of the PDP, Chief Opabode George, for the roof he played in his emergence as a zonal Ex-Officio member, Aeroland said, “Chief Olabode George, you are a great leader, who have always sacrificed to ensure that our party keep moving in the right direction. Most times, people misunderstood you, but you have proven again that you have undying love for our party’s progress, when you agreed that the name of your candidate for the position I now occupied be dropped to allow me, I appreciate you, our Atona Odua.”

He also express gratitude to former member of the House of Representatives from Ajeromi Ifelodun federal constituency, Hon Rita Orji, “for her unflinching support, and for reaching out to me to join Governor Seyi Makinde’s team, to work to liberate our great party, the PDP, from from the claws of unpopular All Progressives Congress, APC, in the South West.”

He enthused, “I equally want to appreciate Hon Shadimu, from Oshodi Isolo 1, members of the House of Representatives from Lagos, Hon Oghene Emma Egoh, and Hon Olatunji Shoyinka from Surulere federal constituency, Hon Tajudeen Obasa, from Ojoo, voting for Lagos tickets at the Zonal congress and for considering backing my aspiration to be the zonal Ex-officio. Thank you Mr Wale Gomez for the financial and moral support you gave me.”

Aeroland revealed that although, some people were of the opinion that he was too big for the zonal Ex-Officio, his response to such insinuation is that “no position is too small or big when there is a need to revamp and reposition our party. If we don’t have a strong party, even if I put in myself for a position of Nigeria’s President, we all know how it will end. So, we must all join hands at this critical time to rebuild the PDP to become strong, robust and winning party once again.

He also appreciated his team, made up of Prince Laja Adeoye, Dare Dada, Dapo, Ajiga Idowu, Anjos Babatunde, and the entire Alimosho Local Government crew, for standing by him, networking and working behind the scene to ensure his emerging victorious.

Now, to my lovely supporters across Lagos, and Nigeria who supported me through their wishes and prayers, I say a very big thank you. Your prayers and moral support mean so much to me, God will continue to elevate us, someday, we will do great things together.

He reiterated, “I want to thank all Lagos delegates and the entire delegates for considering me worthy of this position, I am so proud of you, surprisingly, even those we have had political differences with had to set their grouse aside and ensured that I emerge. You are all great men and women of honor.

“In the words of our leader, Governor Makinde, in this election, we are all winners, no loser.

“Finally, I must say that the work have started, this is the time for all members of the party, not just the executives alone, to roll up their sleeves, because we must support the vision and aspirations of our leader, Governor Makinde’s quest to see PDP returning as the ruling party across the South West and Nigeria in general; so, no matter how low or high the position I occupied, I am 100 per cent keying into this vision. May God help us!”
