Abductors of eight members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, in Kaduna State, have established contact with the leadership of the church, demanding a ₦50 million ransom before releasing their victims.

Public Relations Officer, PRO, of the Kaduna Province of the RCCG, Also Joseph, disclosed this to newsmen.

Joseph revealed that the church members were kidnapped by the bandits at about 7 pm on Friday night, along Kachia road.

He said that the bandits took the church members away to an unknown destination, while the bus in which they were travelling was abandoned by the roadside.

Joseph added that the church has made contact with security agencies over the incident, with the hope that they will help in the immediate rescue of the eight church members.

This is just as the Kaduna State Police Command, speaking through its spokesman, Mohammed Jalige, have confirmed the abduction of the eight RCCG members on Friday night.

Jalige said that the command is working closely with the leadership of the RCCG in the state to ascertain the actual number of those that were abducted, adding that that police operatives have launched a manhunt for the abductors with a view to arresting them and rescuing the victims alive.
