The Chief of Staff to the governor of Cross River State, Hon. Emmanuel Ironbar, on Thursday, received a National Leadership Award as ‘Best Chief of Staff’ in Nigeria, 2024.

The ceremony which held in Abuja at the National Merit Awards House, according to the organisers, The Peoples Parliament Nigeria, was in recognition of Ironbar’s pivotal role in stabilizing the government of Cross River State.

The Peoples Parliament Nigeria noted that Hon. Ironbar’s contributions to effective governance in the state in the last 20 months were not only remarkable, but also phenomenal.

It said, “The Chief of Staff to the governor of Cross River State, Hon. Emmanuel Ironbar, is a square peg in a square hole. His style, character, passion and commitment to service are worthy of emulation.

“He has greatly impacted governance in Cross River State, making him the most Outstanding Chief of Staff to a governor within the period under review, after a thorough selection process.”

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the awards, Chief Perry Opara, stated that the committee could not find a better recipient for the award other than Ironbar, after a painstaking assessment of the 36 Chiefs of Staff to current Nigeria governors.

In his reaction to the award, Ironbar hailed the organizers for the honour done him and dedicated the award of honour to his principal, Governor Bassey Edet Otu, for giving him the opportunity to be where he is today, stressing that the recognition was a motivation to do more.

Ironbar added, “I’m inspired to work even harder. In all, the interest of Cross River State is paramount and her well being is my uttermost concern. I will continue to do my best while giving the governor unalloyed support to enable him pilot the state to greater heights.”
