A pan-Lagos organization, Egbe Omoluabi Eko, Egbe, has advised students, who are Lagos State indigenes, across the country to make themselves available for the scholarship/bursary opportunity put in place by the state governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.

The group averred that the benefit of the scheme for them can never be over emphasised.

Speaking to CompassNG in Lagos on Friday, the Convener of the group, Comrade Ekundayo Ibrahim, while praising Governor Snawo-Olu for his commitment to the empowerment nad development of Lagos youth educationally, reminder that the role of education in the life of the youth cannot be quantified and over-emphasised

Comrade Ibrahim further reiterated his conviction that truly, Sanwo-Olu is walking his talk, as he is fulfilling his 2019 electioneering promises that youth development would be at the uppermost of his heart.

He therefore urged potential beneficiaries not to allow this unique gift from the governor to be wasted.

The group convener was speaking on the heels of Governor Sanwo-Olu’s reported approval of N290 million as bursary and scholarship for Lagos students, describing the gesture as fantastic and heart-warming, insisting that Sanwo-Olu has once again proved to be a unique administrator and a born performer.

The good news was relayed to the public on behalf of the governor by the Executive Secretary, Lagos Scholarship Board, Omotayo Fakolujo, in a statement announcing the release of the fund.

The convener could not agree less with Fakolujo’s submission that the governor’s latest magnanimity underscored the commitment of the state government to sustain bursary and scholarship programmes amid the economic situation in the country, admitting that the Sanwo-Olu administration recognizes the pivotal role education plays in defining the growth and advancement of Lagos.

Fakolujo had said, “Mr. Governor is committed to ensuring that Lagosians are empowered, through education, to contribute productively to the local and global economies.”

The release further directed that “the lucky indigenes exercise patience, as necessary arrangements are being put in place to ensure hitch-free disbursement,” just as Egbe Omoluabi Eko charger eligible students to be on the lookout for the time they would be invited for documentation.

Against this backdrop, the youthful activist therefore expressed the need for Lagosians to double their support for the governor, insisting that with more support, Sanwo-Olu is ever ready to do more for the good people of the state, because encouragement is the needed tonic for performance.
