The Bayelsa State Task Force on COVID-19 has arrested 9 pastors of different denominations in the state capital, Yenagoa, on Sunday, for conducting Sunday service in their various churches.

The pastors, conducting Sunday worship activities in their various churches, have violated an executive order on COVID-19 signed into law by state governor, Douye Diri.

The arrested pastors include; Pastors P. B. Barima, Methodist Church, Obogoro; Timi Aaron, Believers Love World, Akenfa; Adaba Glory, Saint Paul Healing Church, Zion; and Chris Ezene, God’s Grace Salvation Ministry, Obogoro.

Others are: Plus B. James, Prophetic Grace Love Ministry, Opolo; Prophet Alfred Munemune, Halleluyah Deliverance Ministries International; and Daniel Owi, Winners Chapel, Obogoro.

Also arrested are: Sardauna Oguta, All for Christ Zion Church, Akenfa 3 and Tony Justice Samugba, New Covenant Tabernacle Ministry, Akenfa 3.

The arrested men of God are currently cooling their feet at the State C.I.D, awaiting their arraignment before a competent court of jurisdiction for violating the COVID-19 order, which among other things, banned all forms of worship activities in the state as part of efforts to contain the coronavirus pandemic.
