No fewer than 118 graduating students if the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, FUNAAB, out of the 2,823 graduating bag First Class degrees in different courses.

Vice cHancellor, VC of the institution, disclosed this on Thursday in Abeokuta, at a press briefing ahead of the university’s 30th convocation ceremony, which holds today and tomorrow.

Professor Kehinde disclosed that the convocation ceremony for the First Class graduates holds today, while it would hold for the other graduates tomorrow.

The VC explained that 1,094 graduands bagged Second Class Upper Division, while 188 others were listed as Third Class honors graduates.

Kehinde informed that 16 Postgraduate Diplomas, 215 Masters and 113 PhDs academic certificates would also be awarded to meriting students at the ceremony.

He revealed further that 266 others bagged the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, DVM, degree.

Expected to deliver the convocation lecturer on Saturday is former Minister of Education, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili.

The VC also use the occasion to unveil a 200-capacity undergraduate hostel; Animal Demonstration Laboratory, ADL; and an abattoir to serve both the university community and members of the public.

The VC also unveiled a 300-sitting capacity lecture hall, with service centre, which were inaugurated by the Olu of Ilaro, His Royal Majesty, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, the Olowu of Owu, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Prof) Saka Matemilola; and Obong of Calabar, His Royal Majesty, Edidem Ekpo Okon.
