…Fayemi, Obaseki, Others In Self Isolation

Palpable fear has gripped members of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, NGF, following the confirmed positive status of Bauchi State governor, Bala Mohammed and Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, especially as some members of the forum had gone into self-isolation.

Ekiti State governor, Kayode Fayemi, had tweeted on Wednesday that he met two people – Mohammed and Kyari, both of whom had tested positive for coronavirus, adding that he had not only taken the test and awaiting the result, but had gone into self-isolation.

He tweeted, “I just took the COVID-19 test, having gone into self-isolation since yesterday evening. I’m asymptomatic and feel well but I was in meetings with two people who had since tested positive.

“I look forward to an all clear and I have encouraged all my colleagues to take the test.”

Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki, has equally taken the test and gone into self-isolation for the same reasons Fayemi.

Obaseki’s spokesperson, Crusoe Osagie, said his principal has gone into self-isolation after Mohammed and Kyari, tested positive for CONVID-19, adding, “The governor had met Mohammed at the Nigeria Governors’ Forum and National Economic Council meetings. He also visited Mr. Kyari.”

Although, Obaseki has showed no symptoms of the virus, he had however taken the necessary precaution to self-isolate to protect people that may otherwise come in contact with him.

Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello, has also taken the test and gone into self-isolation, following Kyari’s positive status.

Meanwhile, other members of the NGF, like the Bayelsa State governor. Duoye Diri, who directly or indirectly related with Mohammed or Kyari are yet to declare their status.
