Daniel Bwala is a known mouthpiece of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s failed (for the umpteenth time) presidential ambition.

But in the crazy political world of the Turakin Adamawa, where it’s now apparent that the water has since dried on the back of his fish, his lieutenants now seem to be trying their hands on other things, including sorcery, to stay relevant in the public arena.

And this is why Bwala made this outrageous and outlandish claim on his Twitter handle that Godswill Obot Akpabio wouldn’t become the next Senate President.

Aside from being outrageous and outlandish, his claim is also amusing and comical.

He tweeted on Monday, “Godswill Akpabio would not be elected as Senate President. The cloud gathering against his aspiration is heavy and thick. It is not motivated by religion, but by regions and as well as the revenge of the coalition of all foes. Most of the senators following him are not with him.”

We’re amused on two fronts by his tweet ; because one Francis Ugwu of the Daily Post assisted Bwala to magnify this inanity.

And here’s why the two sides of the same informational inanity are amusing, comical, jejune, and asinine that an averagely discerning mind would immediately trash because of so many falsehoods and contradictions.

Let’s take the Daily Post reportage by Francis Egwu first.

Hear him: “DAILY POST recalls that Akpabio, a former governor of Akwa Ibom State…is currently facing opposition from the likes of Senators Ali Ndume, Orji Uzor Kalu, Jibrin Barau, amongst others.”

I wonder where this so-called journalist has been all this while that he didn’t know that Ali Ndume is currently the DG of the Akpabio Senate Presidential campaign.

Or is it that Francis Egwu simply doesn’t have the presence of mind to understand that Jibrin Barau will be the other half of Godswill Akpabio as the Deputy Senate President in the 10th National Assembly as he has since stepped down?

As for Orji Uzor Kalu, well, sometimes you just have to leave bad enough alone.

So, Egwu’s reportage cannot be any more comical than that.

Let’s now interrogate Bwala’s new vocation as a sorcerer to see if it meets the stress test in the emerging political scheme of things, even when I honestly believe he should maintain fidelity to Atiku until the end of his principal’s equally comical and amusing court case.

There are four sentences in Daniel Bwala’s tweet.

There’s no need to deal with the first as it’s a concluding statement based on three false premises.

Bwala said, “The cloud gathering against his (Akpabio) aspiration is heavy and thick.”

The keywords here are “heavy” and “thick.”

How can the “cloud gathering against” Akpabio be “heavy and thick” when he has the full support of President-elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, PEFERN and the All Progressives’ Congress, APC?

Is it not an abuse of language, if not intellectual dishonesty, for an otherwise intelligent and articulate Bwala to have described the “cloud” around Akpabio as “heavy and thick,” when a vast majority of his colleagues have not only publicly declared their support for his aspiration, but also just about all the APC governors and former governors have publicly followed suit?

Could those adjectives have been ascribed to Akpabio when some former and present governors in the opposition parties have made it abundantly clear that they prefer their states to be inside the Akpabio Senate train?

Next is Bwala’s vacuous submission that the heaviness and thickness of the cloud have nothing to do with “religion” but “regional and as well as the revenge of the coalition of all foes.”

Again, all the governors from the South-West region, except Osun, are for Akpabio. One can even say without any fear of contradiction that the Osun senators-elect had come visiting under the cover of darkness.

Ditto, most of the governors from the South-South and North-Central, not to talk of North-West and North-East. So, where is the regional opposition to Akpabio’s bid coming from Daniel Bwala?

“Coalition of all foes?” Nice try. But what’s that?

Bwala said, “Most of the senators following him are not with him.”

Really?

I won’t dignify this with a response because one is clueless when it comes to clairvoyance.

I will rather leave Daniel Bwala to enjoy his newfound vocation as a sorcerer with this latest poke-nosing in APC affairs.
