President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has approved the immediate retirement of all Service Chiefs and the Inspector-General of Police, the Comptroller-General of Customs from service. President Tinubu has as well named their replacements with immediate effect.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Director of information, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, OSGF, Willie Bassey.

The newly appointed Service Chiefs, are:
Mallam Nuhu Ribadu – National Security Adviser, NSA; Major-General C.G Musa – Chief of Defence Staff, CDS; Major-General T. A Lagbaja – Chief of Army Staff, CoAS; Rear Admirral E. A Ogalla – Chief of Naval Staff, CoNS; Air Vice Marshall H.B Abubakar, Chief of Air Staff, CoNS; Deputy Inspector-General of Police, DIG Kayode Egbetokun – acting Inspector-General of Police, IGP; and Major-General EPA Undiandeye, Chief of Defense Intelligence, CoDI.

The President has also approved the following appointments: Colonel Adebisi Onasanya, Commander, Brigade of Guards; Lt.-Colonel Moshood Abiodun Yusuf, Commander, 7 Guards Battalion, Asokoro, Abuja; Lt.-Colonel Auwalu Baba Inuwa, Commander, 177 Guards Battalion, Keffi, Nasarawa State; Lt.-Colonel Mohammed J. Abdulkarim, Commander, 102 Guards Battalion, Suleja, Niger State; Lt.-Colonel Olumide A. Akingbesote, Commander, 176 Guards Battalion, Gwagwalada, Abuja.

In a related development, the President has approved the appointments of other military officers in the Presidential Villa and they include: Major Isa Farouk Audu, N/14695, Commanding Officer, State House Artillery; Captain Kazeem Olalekan Sunmonu, N/16183, Second-in-Command, State House Artillery; Major Kamaru Koyejo Hamzat, N/14656, Commanding Officer, State House Military Intelligence; Major TS Adeola, N/12860, Commanding Officer, State House Armament; Lt. A. Aminu, N/18578, Second-in-Command, State House Armament.

Similarly, the President has also approved the appointments of additional two Special Advisers, SAs, and two Senior Special Assistants, SSA, namely: Hadiza Bala Usman, SA, Policy Coordination; Hannatu Musa Musawa, SA, Culture and Entertainment Economy; Senator Abdullahi Abubakar Gumel, SSA, National Assembly Matters – Senate; and Hon. (Barr) Olarewaju Kunle Ibrahim, SSA, National Assembly Matters – House of Representatives.

The statement also revealed that the President has approved the appointment of Adeniyi Bashir Adewale as the acting Comptroller-General of Customs.

The statement further pointed out that the newly appointed Service Chiefs, the IGP and the Comptroller-General of Customs are to act in their positions, pending their confirmation in accordance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
