Friday marked history in Oyo State chapter of the National Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, as members of the new executives committee, who are to run the affairs of the association for another term were sworn-in.

Speaking on behalf of NAWOJ President, Comrade Ladi Bala, the Vice President of NAWOJ, B Zone, Comrade Omobola Akingbehin, said that the national body, having concluded all the screening processes, returned Jadesola Ajibola, Seyi Bamidele, Stella Oyebanji and Peju Oyelakin as Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer respectively.

She charged the new executive members to bring all members together, serve diligently and promote peace among members.

While presenting the certificate of return to all the contestants, the Vice President advised all members to work together to move the association forward and promote the pen profession in Oyo State in particular, and Nigeria in general.

Also at the inauguration ceremony, the National Financial secretary of NAWOJ, Comrade Adeola Adekunle, who assisted the Vice President, noted that NAWOJ at the national level will continue to uphold the constitution of Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, and ensure best practice in the association.

She called on everyone too work together and give peace a chance in the association.

The newly elected Chairperson, Comrade Ajibola assured all members that her second tenure will be better, promising that the welfare of members will be topmost on the agenda.

Comrade Ajibola noted that NAWOJ is one family and as sisters, the patriotic agenda of her team will be actualised.

Other members of the newly elected state officers are Comrade Seyi Bamidele, Vice Chairperson; Comrade Stella Oyebanji, Secretary and Comrade Peju Oyelakin, Treasurer.
