Sons and daughters of Offa, in Kwara State, under the umbrella of Offa Descendant Union, ODU, have applauded the Federal and Kwara State governments for the establishment of a command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, in Offa, describing it as a bonus to the security architecture in Kwara South.
ODU’s National Public Relations Officer, PRO, Mauruf Olalekan, in a statement issued on Monday stated that the setting up of the NSCDC E Command in Offa would heighten the provision of security and protection of lives and properties in the senatorial district.
Olalekan added that the NSCDC Area E command would extend the provision of security services to communities within the borders Oyun, Ifelodun, and Irepodun communities.
The group commended the Federal Government, the Kwara State government, traditional rulers, and stakeholders for their concerns and collaborations towards improving the security apparatchiki in the district.
The traditional ruler of Offa, Olofa of Offa, His Royal Highness, Oba Muftau Gbadamosi Okikiola Esuwoye II, has also boosted the operations of the new NSCDC command through the provision of four plots of land located behind MOPOL 68, Offa, for the construction of an NSCDC Area E operational office.
