The Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, CRHA, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem, has open up on his visit to the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, LAHA, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, saying that the visit was to enable him seek for mutual co-existence between the two states, and strategise on the promotion of peace across the nation.

Other areas which the Cross River Assembly Speaker said would be useful about the visit was that it would afford him the opportunity to strengthen ties with his Lagos State counterpart on the way forward on facilitating and promoting good governance.

Ayambem stated this yesterday during an interactive session with journalists, stressing that the visit would add value to the state.

He added that there were a lot of benefits which are likely to accrue to the state in the nearest future from the visit.

Shortly after arriving the state from Lagos State, where he paid a courtesy visit on the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly to strategize on how to build bridges across the nation’s socio-political and econmic lives, the Speaker stated that with peaceful co-existence, the nation can have it’s fortunes turned around.

Emphasizing on the need for strengthening of ties between the legislative Assemblies across the nation, the Speaker lauded Obasa for the warm reception accorded him while he was on a working visit to Lagos State.

Ayambem commended Mudashiru and the Lagos Assembly lawmakers for exhibiting that spirit of peace, unity and cooperation, which transcends across regional boundaries.

He informed that his visit to the Lagos State legislative chambers was one of the many visits and not the last, promising to build ties across the nation, until the nation’s legislators become unified and strong, and begin to speak in one voice.

The Speaker highlighted the significance of these political bridges, which he said would impact positively on the lives of the people, transcending political affiliations and ethnic backgrounds.

In his earlier remarks in Lagos State during the visitation, the Lagos Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Obasa commended Ayambem for his visit and affirmed Lagos State Assembly’s dedication to nurturing a peaceful co-existence between the two Houses of Assemblies.
