In an effort to get the needed support from royal fathers for safety of rural communities across the 18 local government areas across the three senatorial districts of the stage, he Cross River State Command of the Nigeria Hunters and Security Services has appointed the paramount ruler of Ikom Local Government Area, His Royal Highness Minen Takon Atangba Mkpa Okwa III as its patron.

The monarch’s emergence as patron of the hunters would provide an opportunity for the monarch to support the activities of the hunters, who are determined to tackle insecurity challenge in the land.

The appointment was made at his his palace in his home town, Akparabong in Ikom Local Government Area of Cross River State, by a delegation led by the state Commandant of the hunters, Commander Ekuk Nkwame, 2ho siad that with the royal father, a lot can be achieved.

Nkwame said, “The decision to appoint you as our patron is because we see you as having the capacity to give us support based on your proactive nature.

“Our believe is that with a hardworking and proactive person that you had always been, a lot can be achieved.

“Your advice and direction, whenever you find us doing mistake, do not hesitate to draw our attention and call us and advise us.”

Others in the delegation include: the National Commander of the Service, General Ese David, who in his remarks promised to work assiduously in one accord toward securing the domain and the entire state to ensure that criminality is fought without hitch.

Nkwame averred that it was in that regards that the delegation took a decision to visit the monarch to appoint him as hunters’ patron.

In his remarks, the National Commander of the Hunters Services, General David, represented by the state commandant, alongside the Youth Council chairman of Ikom Local Government Area; Comr Kenneth Kajang Neji, among other community leaders, promised to redouble their efforts and intensify the fight against insecurity in the local government and the state at large.

Responding, the Ikom paramount ruler assured the hunters of his willingness to work with the group, give them the needed support when needed, pledging not to betray the confidence reposed in him, but go extra miles to ensure that success is achieved, stressing that security is everyone’s business.

He advised residents of the state to provide needed information on those involved in criminality, so that the needful can be done.

The monarch said, “Security isn’t one man’s business, but business of everyone. I urged all hands to be on deck for peace and security to reign in the land.”
