…As CRHA Member Denies Any Wrongdoing In Ugep Generators’ Saga
The Cross River State Commissioner for Power, Prince Eka Williams, has exonerated a Calabar-based business mongul, Mr. Peterson, from allegations of buying over Ugep community power generators in a controversial circumstance.
The commissioner refuted the allegations while reacting to the issue in an interactive session with our correspondent in Calabar yesterday.
Williams stated that it was ridiculous to accuse the businessman, who knew nothing about and had nothing to do with the power generators.
He said that Peterson’s name was mentioned in the generators issue probably because the firm which he superintends as Chief Executive Officer, CEO, has retainership with the Ministry of Power, and was also in charge of fixing the power generators.
In a related development, the lawmaker representing in state House of Assembly, Hon. Cyril Omini, has debunked allegations of his involvement in controversial sale of the Ugep community power generators.
He debunked the allegation after the Special Adviser, SA, to the governor of Cross River State on Intelligence and Security Matters, Mr. Goddy Akpama, alleged that the lawmaker was involved in the controversial sale of the two power generators belonging to Ugep community of Cross River State.
In a telephone chat with our correspondent in Calabar yesterday, the lawmaker denied any involvement in the matter.
On his part, the Calabar-based business man, Peterson who also denied any wrong doing, claimed that his involvement in the power generators issue was because the purported sale was illegal.
He told our correspondent, “I don’t involved myself in any illegal business.
“If I am found wanting, the police have the right to arrest and prosecute me.”
