As the hues and cries over the rape and brutal murder of a 100-Level student of the University of Benin, Ms Vera Omozuwa, are yet to abate, another 18-year-old year one student of Federal College of Animal Health and Production in Ibadan, identified as Bello Barakat, was reportedly gang raped and murdered by unknown men in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The incident allegedly occurred in Akinyele area of the state capital, where it was gathered that her father discovered her dead body around their home, and after her body was examined, they discovered that she was raped, then she got murdered.
The victim had been buried according to Islamic injunctions.
Meanwhile, the South West zone of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, has demanded justice for the deceased, who was assaulted and murdered.
This is just as her murder has also continued to attract nationwide outrage as Nigerians have taken to social media to express their displeasure over the rising cases of rape in Nigeria with the hashtag #JusticeforBarakat.
