The presidential aspiration of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and the second term ambition of Lagos State Governor Olusola Sanwo-Olu got a boost on Monday at a rally organized by the Team Lagos.

The well-attended rally was held at the Haven Event Centre located along Adekunle Fajuyi Way, GRA, Ikeja Lagos: and was addressed by the crème la crème of the society, including: Chairman, Lagos State Parks Management Committee, Alhaji Musliu Akinsanya, a.k.a MC Oluomo, frontline rights activist and National President, Campaign for Dignity in Governance, CDG, Comrade Razaq Olokoba, Lagos State APC Woman Leader, Hon Jumoke Okoya Thomas, Director General, Team Lagos, Comrade Anthony Olayinka Adeboye, President, All Nigerian Local Government Chairmen, ALGON, Hon Alabi Kolade Davis, Odi-Olowo LCDA Chairman and Secretary, Conference 57, Lagos State, Hon. Rasaki Ajala, Commissioner for Home Affairs, Hon Hanafi Elegushi, and Alhaji Mustapha Adekunle, the mover of the Votes. The list is endless.

Interestingly, all the speakers were unanimous in their belief that both Asiwaju Tinubu and Governor Sanwo-Olu are eminently qualified and capable to hold the positions they are aspiring to occupy, because they are as good as being round pegs in round holes.

In his remarks on the august occasion, the CDG President, Comrade Olokoba, reminded the august audience of the political dexterity of Asiwaju Tinubu, who he described as a master political strategist since the time of the war against the military that eventually led to the desired democratization of the polity in Nigeria till the time he became the governor of Lagos State in 1999 till now that he is the leader of the ruling APC at the centre.

Olokoba averred that the administrative capability of Tinubu is second to none among other contestants for the President in the country presently, asserting that “Tinubu is the most qualified to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari so that the good work Buhari started can be continued by another capable hand.”

Olokoba concluded that it is instructive to note that Tinubu as President would have people who would serve as check and balance on him in the event that he appears to need help in governance, assuring that “we are here to put him back on the right track if we suspect he seems to be committing errors.”

Describing Tinubu as the proverbial needle with thread that can hardly get lost, Olokoba reminded that “in Yoruba land, there are always elders that always put their children right by inviting them home to give them proper direction for the good of the people.”

On Governor Sanwo-Olu, the activist expressed the delight that “it is an open fact that both the people of Lagos State and her residents both at home and beyond are well aware of his performance and outstanding achievement in office since 2019, a development which gave him the endorsement for a second term in office, assuring that Sanwo-Olu, who has not disappointed us so far, will not disappoint us in his second term in office.”

In his goodwill message, Director General, Team Lagos, Comrade Adeboye, reminded that Tinubu’s Midas touch has never been in doubt, expressing the conviction that “none of us present here today is not aware of his activities that brought the country back to the path of democracy like other civilised country of the world.”

In addition, he said that “Tinubu’s political and economic acumen was put into play as the governor of Lagos State, and the way he handled the state when allocations due to it from the centre in Abuja were withheld by the Federal Government under the then President Olusegun Obasanjo.

The DG assured, “So, if he is allowed to be President next year, Nigeria will be better for it,” expressing the need for all and sundry to go round spreading the good gospel of Asiwaju Tinubu beyond the state to every nook and corner of the country to canvass for support and votes that will bring in Tinubu as the next president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Adeboye however echoed Olokoba’s conviction that the governor’s second term in office appears a forgone conclusion, noting that “going by his performance and achievement, the coming election will simply be a mere formality.”

After Alhaji Mustapha Adekunle’s votes of thanks, the expression on the faces of the attendees was of satisfaction with the submissions of the various speakers.
