The governor of Cross River State, Senator (Prince) Bassey Otu, has hailed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, PBAT, for his decision to allot two ministerial slots to Cross River State, in his current move to form his cabinet for the commencement of the proper implementation of his plans, policies and programmes aimed at transforming Nigeria.
The two Cross Riverians, who were among the first batch of ministerial nominees sent to the Senate for confirmation by the President are former member of the House of Representatives and former senator representing Cross River Central, Senator John Owan Enoh, and erstwhile Cross River Commissioner for Health and National Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr. Betta Edu.
In a recent post on his official Facebook page to congratulate Enoh and Edu, Governor Otu described the Cross River nominees as capable hands that will deliver in whatever portfolio assigned to them.
He wrote, “I congratulate the nomination of my dear brother, distinguished Senator John Owan Enoh – JOE and Dr Betta Edu on their appointment as ministerial nominees from our state.
“Looking at their track record at different times, I have no doubt that the nation will be proud of them as ministers.
“These are very capable hands who have, at different times, distinguished themselves in public service and I am deeply convinced that they will exceed the expectation of Mr. President and that of Nigerians in terms of excellent delivery in whatever portfolio they will be assigned to.
“I also salute the courage of Mr. President as well as his wisdom in nominating two of our very brilliant son and daughter to serve in his cabinet. I have no doubt that President Tinubu means well for Cross River State and Nigeria, we will be better as a nation under his watch.”
