Over 150 exhibitors are participating in the 2024 edition of the Odu’a International Trade Fair, holding between October 18 and 29, 2024, at the Expoyo Ground, Sango, Ibadan.

The exhibition, co-hosted by the South-West states at the Trade Fair Ground, Expoyo, Sango, Ibadan is poised to become the largest business gathering in the South-West region.

Chairman organizing committee, Odu’a International Trade Fair 2024, Chief Kola Akosile, who disclosed this at the trade fair ground said the event is featuring a diverse range of exhibitors from the six South-West states, including Oyo, Ekiti, Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, and Osun.”

He said, “With over 100 to 150 exhibitors already confirmed to showcase their products and services, the event will boost the economy of the hosting state”

Akosile said Nigerian businesses can tap into the vast opportunities inherent in the trades with the six South-West states.

He said, “Products and services showcased will include agric and agro-allied products, manufactured goods, electronic goods among others.”

The organizing committee chairman stated that the 10-day event, which started on October 18 will also feature business exhibitions, and a showcase of the region’s agricultural prowess, with a focus on food security and natural resources.

President of Odu’a Chamber of Commerce Industry Mines and Agriculture, ODU’ACCIMA, Chief Akinwande, noted that the government has provided security measures, including personnel from the DSS, Amotekun, and the Sango Divisional Police Station.

Akinwande said, “As far as security is concerned, the government of Oyo State has given us the services of DSS, Amotekun, and the Sango Divisional Police Station is sending four police officers to watch over the trade fair ground.”

President of Oyo State Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, OYCCIMA, Dr. Daniel Gbadero, emphasized the importance of local production, saying, “When we create, we don’t need to depend on goods coming from outside of this country to survive. God has abundantly blessed us with raw resources, minerals, and agricultural products. It’s up to us to reset, go into production, and add value to these resources.”

He added that the trade fair will also highlight artificial intelligence applications, technology displays, and satellite imaging for agricultural management, showcasing the latest innovations in precision agriculture.
