The Igala Community in Lagos State has declared total support for the candidates of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the forthcoming general elections.
This all-important declaration was made on Thursday, at the Oduduwa Cresent headquarters of the Independent Campaign Council, ICC, for Tinubu/Shettima and Sanwo-Olu/Hamzat tickets.
The event, which came up under the auspices of the Directorate of Ethnicity of the ICC, under the Abel leadership of Hon. Wale Adelana.
The Chairman of the ICC, Cardinal James Omolaja Odunmbaku, commended the resilient spirit of the Igala people and their commitment to the cause of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.
Cardinal Odunmbaku therefore charged the Igala people to go and deliver their polling booths.
Speaking at the event, ICC Vice Chairman, Basorun Alabi Macfoy, thanked the gathering for turning out in their large numbers; noting that Kogi State Governor Yaya Bello is a youth governor, who has been mobilizing the youths across the country.
The Deputy Director General of the ICC, Mr. Kola Peregrino, stated that he was familiar with the Igala people, who he described as trustworthy people, who will deliver on their promise for Asiwaju Tinubu and Governor Sanwo-Olu’s second term bid.
Dignitaries at the event include: the ICC Director General, Mr. Tayo Ayinde, the ICC, chairman, Cardinal Odunmbaku; ICC vice chairman, Hon. Macfoy; ICC Deputy DG, Mr. Peregrino; Director of Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Bayo Osiyemi; and Directory of Volunteering, Prince Abiodun Abu.
Others were: Director of Outdoor Promotion and Management, Comrade Ayo Adewale, Director of Grassroots Engagement, Hon. Ladi Balogun; Director of Legal Affairs, Mr. Lawal Pedro, SAN; former international footballer, Waheed Akanni; Mr. Olumide Oyedeji, Director if Media and Publicity, Comrade Olusesan Daini; Director of Women Mobilisation, Mrs. Folashade Onajobi; Director of New Media, Mr. Jubril Gawat; Director of Protocol, Hon. Jibike Babatunde; Director of Communication and Strategy, Ms. Kenny Saint-Brown; and Deputy Director of Media and Publicity, Mrs. Funke Moore, among others.
