The suspension of the English Premier League due to the coronavirus outbreak is bringing untold hardship to popular football viewing centre owners in Lagos, the commercial capital city of Nigeria and across other major cities in the country.
James Ade, who owns a popular football viewing centre in Agbelekale, a suburb of Abule Egba in Lagos, lamented the postponement of the EPL, saying it will have a great negative impact on his income.
Another viewing centre operator at Ejigbo area of Lagos, who simply gave his name as Fidelis, also regretted the decision of the EPL management team to postpone EPL matches.
He said, “The suspension of EPL matches due to the pandemic Coronavirus is bad for business.
” Majority of viewers are interested only in EPL matches and this has negatively affected our business.
Coronavirus should go back to where it comes from and let us return to been ness on time.”
