Despite the rampaging COVID-19 pandemic, the world’s super-rich get richer.
This was contained in a study published on Wednesday, October 7 by consulting firm, PwC and Swiss bank UBS.
Total assets of more than 2,000 billionaires rose to $10.2 trillion in July; surpassing the previous peak of $8.9 trillion at the end of 2017.
Recovery of stock markets and investments in technology and healthcare increased the billionaires’ fortunes.
Currently, 2,189 men and women in 43 countries are worth more than $1billion each.
In Germany, the number of billionaires grew from 114 before the pandemic to 119.
