In a bid to ensure access to safe water, the member representing Lagos Mainland federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Olajide Jimoh, has facilitated a motorized borehole project at Otumara, Ilaje, Apapa road, Lagos.

The drilling and installation of the borehole with 10,000 litres capacity overhead tank, has commenced at the site.

Speaking recently during an empowerment programme for women and youths, Hon Jimoh, the Chairman, House Committee on Regional Planning and Urban Development, said he would ensure that the dividends of democracy is delivered to the doorsteps of the people.

Ilaje-Otumara community is under Lagos Mainland federal constituency and hitherto were faced with water challenges.

Displaying wild jubilation at sighting the installation of the projects, residents of the community expressed gratitude to the lawmaker for giving them access to potable water, as the challenges have come to end.

Recall that over 50 boreholes have been facilitated by the lawmaker to the constituency, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals. SDGs Goal 6: “Ensure Access to Water and Sanitation for All.”
