A former lawmaker at the Green Chamber of the National Assembly and former member of the Pan African Parliament, PAP, Hon. Ibrahim Bello, has expressed confidence that the proposed 2025 budget presented to the Kaduna State House of Assembly by Governor Uba Sani will greatly impact the people and bring meaningful development to the state.
Governor Uba recently presented a budget proposal of N790 billion for the 2025 fiscal year to the state Assembly, giving priority to education, agriculture, health, infrastructure and human capital development.
Out of the said N790 billi9n, N553 billion was set aside to take care of capital expenditure component of the budget, while N237 billion was earmarked for recurrent spending.
The 2025 proposed budget, tagged ‘Sustaining Rural Transformation and Inclusive Development,’ was earlier presented to the public at a town hall meeting with stakeholders, including youth bodies, women groups, civil society organisations, CSOs, and professional associations, for the people to make their input before the document was sent to the state legislators for deliberations.
Hon. Bello, who is the Senior Special Assistant, SSA, on Chieftaincy Affairs to Governor Sani, said the content of the budget proposal gave a clear indication that his principal meant well for the people of the state and ready to fulfil his campaign promises without the slightest hesitation.
He said, “His Excellency, Governor Uba Sani, the man who has been working tirelessly round the clock to bring total transformation and overall development to our dear state, must be commended for coming up with a budget proposal for the 2025 fiscal year that is completely people-oriented. It’s obviously a further demonstration of the resolve of our dynamic and performing governor to bring greater dividends of democracy to the doorsteps of the people who chose him from many others to be the captain of the state’s ship last year.
“His seeking the input of various groups and stakeholders across the state and getting the people involved in the process of putting together the draft of the proposed budget before presenting it to the state parliament was a big plus for him. It shows that he is a great leader determined to make a difference in the lives of his followers by giving them listening ears and carrying everyone along in the governance process. He has continued to show that he is indeed a leader who believes in accountability, transparency, inclusivity, open-door policy and responsive governance.”
He said in the last 18 months, the governor has executed various projects and initiated numerous programmes geared towards bettering the lives of residents of Kaduna State.
He averred, “Governor Sani, my leader and principal, has made significant impact in the lives of the people for the period he has spent in office. It has been an impressive display of good governance. He is unarguably one of the best performing governors in the country today.
“The positive effects of of his pragmatic and purposeful leadership is being felt across the state. Greater effects will surely be felt upon the passage of the state’s 2025 proposed budget with the provisions contain therein. Governor Uba is God-sent. The people of Kaduna State are pleased with his leadership.”
