… Encourages Nigerian Youth To Embrace Real Estate Business
The Minister in charge, Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) youth church, Region 17, Calabar, Obok James, yesterday admonished Nigerian youths not to depend on inheritance nor marriage for survival and wealth creation, saying it could be disastrous.
He spoke during a special church service with the theme: ‘Strategy for wealth creation’, organized to train and equip the congregation on how to generate and maximize business ideas, in Calabar.
He said from research findings neither inheritance, marriage nor waged employment were better options to create wealth.
According to him, these options are fluid and unsustainable way to make it in life.
The youth minister said God had given all humans what it takes including the required skills to be prosperous in all facets of life, noting that depending on inheritance or marriage to make it in life is parasitic.
Reading from the book of Deuteronomy 8: 18, he said many believers have the power, but were not utilizing it, adding that the session with a sub topic: ‘Understanding your vehicle for wealth creation’, will be an eye opener for the congregation.
Obok said it will be hypocritical for believers not to talk about money even though all we do as humans revolves around money, disclosing that what sets the rich apart from the crowd is application of the right principles.
“Anything you do as a human being revolves around money, and yet we don’t know how to make money. So, you must learn how to make, how to manage and multiply your money. It is not MMM.
“If you are attentive and follow what I am going to share with you today, your life will never remain the same.
“If you don’t follow these principles, no matter the prayer you pray; it won’t work. There are principles in life, and our God is a God of principle. If you don’t follow these principles, you can’t get what you want from God.
“It will be hypocrisy for us not to talk about money. It will be hypocrisy for us to say we are women and men of God without talking about money. Some people think that holiness is synonymous to poverty; when you are poor, they say because we are holy. It is God that given wealth; silver and gold belong to God.
“Why is it that some Christians are living from hand to mouth despite the promises of God, despite all the opportunities around? Many are complaining. I am a pastor here; I know what is happening. Many cannot even afford three square meals. They don’t eat what they want; they eat what they see. Life has become so difficult for many. Many have become so use to begging, many have become so use to borrowing and complaining.
“Many are here now; it is very difficult for them to survive and it ought not to be so. As a child of God, the Lord said I shall supply all your needs. I wish above all things that thou shall be in good health as thy soul prosper.
“So, this morning, in our strategy for wealth creation. I am going to share with you what I call understanding your vehicle for wealth creation. In the book of Deuteronomy 8: 18, It says thou shall remember thy lord thy God, for it is He that giveth thee power to get wealth.
“Many of us here have the power, but we are not creating wealth. Why? Ideas are power, knowledge is power. You need to create wealth; wealth will not fall from heaven upon you. No; it won’t fall. You can’t just go there and start praying and naira or pound sterling will start falling. No; it does not work that way.
“I am going to share with you ten (10) vehicles for wealth creation. Identify with at least one vehicle and keep to it. But if you can identify with two better.
“The number one vehicle is by inheritance. But, unfortunately, it is not the best. This one is just one percent. Any Nigerian man who is wealthy; the first thing to do is to accumulate children, marry plenty of wives and by the time the man dies, those children would be fighting over inheritance gotten from their father. So, this one, don’t depend on it even though your father is very rich.
“The number two area people make wealth is through marriages. If you marry a big man, you become a big woman. If you marry from a rich family; you become rich. But the rich are very smart now; the rich marry the rich because they know poor people are so intelligent now. They are parasites; they want to come in. So, don’t depend on this one because it can fail you.
“The number three way to make wealth are through salaries or paid job. Everybody want to work for others; you work for thirty days and be paid for one day. Before the salary comes, you have owed a lot of people. You will be borrowing and be begging to feed and take care of your family. And its so sad that many are depending on salary, and nothing else than to go to work and come back home. There are opportunities, but they won’t take advantage because of salary. Their productivity level is at a low ebb because of salary.
“Many are here thinking there is job security in salary; there is no job security in paid jobs. Many are here, since last month they have not received their pay. Have you not seen people who travel to Abuja because of their pensions, but they die on their way? Pensioners are begging and many of them are not being taken care of. Don’t depend on this one. Anybody who is depending on salary, anybody who is depending on inheritance, anybody who is depending on marriage, you are the one that is trekking. Your road is far”, he said amidst a mindset illustration.
However, the man of God said wealth creation opportunities abound in the real estate sector, urging the youth and unemployed university graduates to take advantage of it to earn a living.
Obok, who described the real estate sector as a goldmine, said it will be an error for people to complain of lack when there are opportunities everywhere to make money.
He said countless opportunities also abound in the capital market, adding that all that was required to exploit this venture is to have the needed financial literacy.
Other vehicles for wealth creation, according Pastor Obok, include: to become a business owner, Intellectual property business, gift and talent industry as well as the information business.
