Two young talented lawn tennis players, who are students of Start-Rite Schools, Abuja, Chukwudubem Amasiani, aged 12 and Chukwubuikem Amasiani, aged 10, have presented their recent trophies to former Senate Leader and former Chairman of Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, SAN.

The duo earned the trophies through outstanding performances at the recently concluded West and Central African Junior Championship in Togo and the Azimuth Shipping Lines Junior Tennis Championship in Lagos.

Receiving the young tennis stars in his office in Abuja, Ndoma-Egba, the Chairman of the Advisory Board of Start-Rite Schools, expressed deep joy over the remarkable feats of the Amasiani brothers in the game of tennis.

Ndoma-Egba, who is an avid lawn tennis player, said Start-Rite Schools is proud of the emerging champions and remains committed to providing them with the needed support as they continue to flourish in their tennis pursuits.

Recognized as Nigeria’s top U-12 and U-14 tennis players, the Amasiani brothers, Dubem and Ikem, in JSS2 and JSS1 respectively, building on their recent triumph in Togo, are set to represent Nigeria at the upcoming Main Africa Junior Championship, expected to hold later this year.

At the just concluded Azimuth Shipping Lines Junior Tennis Championship in Lagos, which featured 27 states, including Abuja, Dubem, the elder of the brothers, advanced to the U-14 category after winning the U-12 in 2023. He came second in the U-14, while Ikem, his younger sibling, won first place in the U-12.

Prior to their recent scintillating outings in Togo and Lagos, the Abuja- based youngsters have previously won several laurels from their exploits on the tennis block.

For instance, in 2023 alone, Dubem reportedly played in the finals of ten different tournaments, winning eight and emerging as a runner-up in only two.
