Ahead of the 2023 presidential elections, South-South, South-East youths support groups have put their weight solidly behind the presidential ambition of the governor of Kogi State, Hahaha Bello, insisting that he is the right man for the plumb job.
Speaking under the aegis of Nigerian Rescue Mission, RENMISS, the youths said that it is only Bello who has the capacity to fix the economy of the nation, calling on youths in other parts of the geo-political zones of the nation to do same.
National Coordinator of RENMISS, Abdullahi Damat, stated that over 14.3 million youths groups across all the geo-political zones are out to support Governor Bello to fulfill his presidential ambition.
Addressing various youths groups from the South-South and South-East in Calabar, during a Town Hall meeting at Pyramid Hotel, Abdullahi said that governance is all about inclusiveness and Governor Bello has displayed that in Kogi State through youths inclusiveness in his government.
The cordinator charged youths from the South-South and South-East zones to throw their weight behind Governor Bello’s presidential ambition in 2023.
Also speaking during the Town Hall meeting, National Mobiliser for Yahaya Bello Campaign Organisation, Professor Ralph Offiong, said that the governor had done so much in terms of youth inclusiveness and speaking truth to power.
He said, “His government is run by young people with diverse culture and diverse religion and different political persuasion, I think Yahaya Bello is a model.”
Offiong, who is also the Head of Department of Regional Geography, University of Calabar, Cross River State, urged the youths in the country to support Yahaya Bello’s aspirations.
In their solidarity messages, the Chairman of the Cross River State chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Commrade Dan Obo, said that Yahaya Bello is a friend of the Nigerian youths and the youths from the state will throw their weight behind the Kogi State governor.
The National Vice President, South-South, NYCN, Commrade Solomon Isogho, said that the Town Hall meeting is an engagement with youths, stressing that Yahaya Bello has deemed it fit to interact with various youths from the South-South and South-East.
A representative from the South-East, Commrade Igwe Chukwudi, said that Yahaya Bello is a man who believes that youths are the leaders of today and not the opposite.
