The Lagos State government has reiterated its commitment to support teachers as well as schools in the state to improve the learning outcome, improve the environment and provide the right infrastructure.

The state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who stated this in his keynote address at the formal launch and graduation ceremony of Excellence in Child Education and Learning, EkoExcel Teachers Professional Development and Training Programme by the Lagos State Ministry Education in conjunction with Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board, LASUBEB, tagged “Leave No Child Behind,” urged teachers in the state to be more dedicated and committed to their duty, as free Health Mission would be provided to access their sight with glasses, while promising to reward the best teacher in each local governments and Local Council Development Areas, LCDAs

Governor Sanwo-Olu said that the role of teachers in the society can not be over-emphasised, as the power of education is vital to growth, development and economic emancipation of any nation.

In the same vein, the Lagos State Commissioner for Education, Folashade Adefisayo, stated that EkoExcel would give great joy and pride as well as ensure a 360 degree impact that would bring about technological education revolution, as the 300 hundred primary school teachers who had been trained in the state would not only have access to the tablets, but also free text books, home work books, among other initiatives.

The Executive Chairman, Lagos State SUBEB, Wahab Alawiye-King, also thanked Governor Sanwo-Olu’s administration, the teachers as well as other stakeholders for their support as the board embarked on the multi-faceted and dynamic approach in revitalising the education sector in the state, urging parents to further help in carrying out the oversight functions to nurture the pupils

Present at the event were the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Abosede Adelaja, the Permanent Board members of LASUBEB, Education Secretaries, the Lagos State All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftains, traditional leaders, teachers, stakeholders, among others.
