The leadership of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, has commiserated with the governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, over the demise of his dear wife, late Mrs. Patience Omo Eno, who passed on to the great beyond days ago.
Speaking on behalf of the Christian body on Sunday in Calabar, the PFN National Publicity Secretary, and General Overseas of the Christian Central Chapel International, CCCI, aka Faith Mansion international World Headquarters, Ikot Ene Obong 8miles, Calabar, Archbishop-elect, Dr. Emmah Gospel Isong, asked the deceased’s husband not to be despaired by his wife’s demise, but to look on to God through out this moment of grief.
A condolence message addressed to the governor of Akwa Ibom State, Eno, dated September 29, 2024, and signed by the PFN National President, His Eminence, Bishop Dr Wale Oke, made available to our news desk on Sunday in Calabar, Oke prayed God to give protection to the deceased’s family through this moment of grief.
The PFN letter, titled, ‘Perplexed, But Not in Despair,” reads, “We received with great shock the news of the transition of your dear wife, Her Excellency, Pastor (Mrs.) Patience Umo Eno, a peaceful mother of the state.
“On behalf of millions of all Pentecostals in Nigeria, we hereby extend our heartfelt condolences and sincere prayers to you and your family in this trying moment of your life.
“Her Excellency was not just a compassionate First Lady, but a mother extraordinary.
“Your Excellency, as a Pentecostal preacher and father of faith in your own right, we need not remind you of the scriptures in 2 Corinthians 4:8-9: ‘We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed.
“‘We are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;’ may the soul of our mother find rest in Christ, and may you find strength to continue in ministry and to pursue the state functions entrusted in your hands.”
