A book ‘REPORTER’ written by a former commissioner in Oyo State, veteran journalist and coordinator of the Ibadan Campus of the International Institute of Journalism, Abuja, Alhaji Bolaji Kareem, will be launched on Thursday, February 6, 2025, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The launching is expected to be attended by former governor of Ogun State, Aremo Segun Osoba and retired Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Tajudeen Olukayode Ariwoola as Special Guests of Honour.
Royal Fathers of the Day are Oba Senator Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland and Aseyin of Iseyinland, Oba Sefiu Oyebola, Adeyeri III, (Ajirotutu I), while Barrister Hammed Raji, SAN, and the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Bayo Lawal, will be Chairman and Father of the Day respectively.
‘REPORTER’ will be launched at the NUJ Press Centre, Iyaganku, Ibadan and the Oyo State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Alhaji Ademola Babalola, will be the Chief Host.
Speaking on the book, the author, Alhaji Kareem said the book ‘REPORTER’ is a valuable book for students and lecturers of journalism, Mass Communication and Media Communications in the universities, polytechnics and Institutes of Journalism and researchers.
He said it will also be a guide for practising journalists.
Alhaji Kareem said the unique selling point of the book is that it contains practical experiences by veterans likes of Chief Osoba, late Peter Ajayi, and Mr Felix Adenaike, the author’s and others’ at reportorial duties in various media houses across the country and all over the world.
The book also teaches the nitty-gritty of news writing and reporting, especially for new entrants.
