The acting chairperson of the Governing Council of Ondo State-owned Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Olubunmi Omoniyi, has congratulated the governor of Ondo State, His Excellency Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa, on his victory at last Saturday’s All Progressives Congress, APC, primary election.
Omoniyi described Ayedatiwa’s victory at the APC primary election as “well deserved and reward for his commitment to uplifting the state to greater heights” since his assumption of office as governor last year.
In a statement she personally signed and made available to newsmen, Omoniyi said, “On behalf of myself and my family and the entire board and management of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, I hereby extend hearty congratulations to our dear own governor, His Excellency, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, the executive governor of Ondo State, on his well-deserved victory and his emergence as the flag bearer at the All Progressives Congress primary election, held last Saturday.
“His victory at the primary election was not only well-deserved, but a reflection of his acceptance by the generality of both APC members across the state, but the generality of Ondo citizenry.
“It is also the reward of the giant strides he has made within the short time he assumed the mantle of leadership of the Sunshine State.
“Congratulations, your Excellency. We wish you more victories ahead, especially on November 16.”
Recall that Ayedatiwa beat 15 other contenders to emerge the APC flag bearer for the November 16 Ondo State governorship election in the party’s primary election held last Saturday, with a total of 48,569 votes. Coming a distant second was Mayowa Akinfolarin, who polled a paltry 15,343 votes; while Chief Olusola Oke came third with 14,865 votes.
Aiyedatiwa will now fly the banner of the APC in the November 16 Ondo State governorship election.
